Its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 9 in the city of Albany. After a journey of 1.76 miles (2.83 km), it reaches its northern end at an intersection with NY 378 in the suburb of Menands.

Route description
At its southern terminus, NY 377 begins at U.S. Route 9 in the city of Albany. The highway initially heads east-northeast, but shortly after turns sharply northward, bordering the Wolferts Roost Country Club. Known as Van Rensselaer Boulevard, Route 377 continues northward to its ending terminus at Route 378 in the suburb of Menands.[4]
History
NY 377 was assigned to its current alignment in the mid-1930s.[1][2] Its southern terminus, originally at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Loudonville Road, was reconfigured into an interchange when the portion of U.S. Route 9 in northern Albany was converted into a limited-access highway in the 1970s.[5][6]
