About Chak Jhumra
Chak Jhumra is a town and tehsil near the city of Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. It is a sub-division of Faisalabad District and has a Tehsil municipal administration (TMA). Chak Jhumra Town consists of 15 union counsils.
The town has a runway belonging to the army, but it is rarely used. Chak Jhumra is a railway junction so many people travel through its railway station. The town is connected by road to Salarwala, Shahkot, Chiniot and Faisalabad. In Chak Jhumra, a sizable population uses power looms to earn their livelihood. Public transportation available to this town is in a state of decay. Train is a major mode of transportation which may not be punctual, causing time delays.
Despite being a small town, the former prime minister Muhammad Khan Junejo and Raja Nadir Pervaiz, Ch Ghulam Mustafa Bajwa and Ch. Tariq Mehmood Bajwa have contested and won election of National Assembly of Pakistan from Chak Jhumra. However, these high profile parliamentarians could not resolve the problems of the town which range from transportation to livelihood opportunities. Ch. Ghulam Mustafa Bajwa has a credit of bringing Natural Gas in this small town in 1990 and later his son Ch Tariq Mehmood Bajwa managed the provision of Natural Gas in the surrounding areas. Ch. Tariq Bajwa played a major role in connecting this town to the MotorWay. Calling code is (041).

There is a well known mosque and tomb of hazrat Qaim Ali Shah. There is a Sikh Gurudwara (shrine) dedicated to Shaheed Bhai Dalip Singh.[1] There is also a small market called Chak Jhumra main bazaar. It has Punjabi cultural and historical values for their products food and other stuff.Chak Jhumra is also linked with Motorway M3 through "Sahianwala" Interchange. Chak Jhumra is situated amid of two industrial estates namely "Khurrianwala Industrial Area" and "Faisalabad Industrial Zone, Sahianwala". Sugarcane is the main crop of this area.
