139 Rb Gahhie

139 Rb Ghammi is a village in Chak Jhumra Tehsil in Faisalabad District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. [http://www.faisalabad.gov.pk/ucprofiles_jhumra.aspx Chak Jhumra - City District Government of Faisalabad] ] It lies 4 kilometres from Salarwala and 12 kilometres away from Sangla Hill. The village is the administrative centre of Union Council 5 of Jhumra Tehsil, the village has a population of 3,257. The village was established when some Chatha people came here on digging of Cannal Rakh Branch in 1890. These Chatha people came here from Gurdaspur however they are rooted back to Gujaranwala. The village has all the classical traditions of the British era and some elements of post partition of 1947. The English government established two graveyards, one for Christians and one for Muslims beside two areas of shamshan Ghats one for Sikhs and one for Hindus. The village had once a minority population of Hindus but they all migrated to India in 1947.

Infrastructure

Currently the village has a Government Primary School for boys and a High School for girls. The Dehi Markaz health facility, which has 10 beds, was established by the Punjab Government in 1988.
