- Oscar love curse
-
The Oscar love curse or Oscar curse is a superstition that the woman who wins the Academy Award for Best Actress will have her boyfriend or husband cheat on her, or divorce her soon after.[1][2][3][4] It has also been applied to the Best Supporting Actress.

- Sophia Loren (Best Actress, 1962 Two Women) and husband Carlo Ponti were married on September 17th, 1957. However, the 1962 annulment of their marriage was for legal, rather than personal reasons. Loren and Ponti were formally married on April 9th, 1966 and remained so, until Ponti's death in 2007.
- Maggie Smith (Best Supporting Actress, 1979 California Suite) and husband Beverley Cross were married on August 23rd, 1975 and remained so, until Cross's death in 1998.
