It was launched together with MTV Indonesia on 1 January 1993, and was owned by Bakrie & Brothers, together with Viacom Indonesia. It has its programming block from time to time. Currently, it is owned by Viacom and Bhakti Investama.

Programme block
Global TV has a block called Nickelodeon on Global TV. It began when it broadcast on ANTeve since it launched on 1 January 1993 joins remaining new resume broadcasters launched was relaunched on 1 June 2001 and was disestablished on 13 March 2003. Later it was broadcast on Lativi/tvOne, with less programming since it launched on 1 February 2004 joins remaining new resume broadcasters launched was relaunched on 1 May 2005 and was disestablished on 31 January 2006 it returns to the ANTeve group and create a new programming block, Nickelodeon on TVOne and TV ONE Kids which last until 1 February 2006.
With the 11 January 2006 acquisition of Viacom Indonesia by Bhakti Investama Viacom Indonesia was separated away from Bakrie & Brothers, and became part of Media Nusantara Citra, together with MTV Indonesia and VH1 Indonesia. On 1 February 2006, Global TV started the programming block aired from 05:00 WIB and aired eight hours.
Today, Nickelodeon on Global TV has more than 14 programmes and broadcast also through SINDOtv It started launched on 1 January 2007.
