MTV Dance is a digital television channel based in the United Kingdom. The channel is MTV UK's dedicated dance music channel with music videos and programming of underground and mainstream dance tracks. MTV Dance was for many years available only on the UK, the Ireland and some German cable Providers. It was originally started out as a programming slot on the now defunct MTV Extra and it had a Paneuropean presence. Later, it became a separate thematic music channel only for the subscribers of Sky Digital UK and timeshared for a while with Nick Jr. every afternoon between 19:00 and 06:00. However, it has since gained its own channel and started broadcasting 24 hours from 13 August 2002.

On March 7th 2008, MTV Dance replaced the European feed of MTV Base UK on Astra 1 satellite (19.2o East) and is therefore now available to the whole continent that previous carried MTV Base UK.

During the early 00s, the only available competitor for the dance music television market in the UK & Ireland was Rapture TV. Since 2006, Flaunt became the main competitor (broadcasting Free to Air and in the aspect ratio 16:9 "widescreen" format). A new competitor since early 2008, is Clubland TV.
