It was created to promote the Education Industry in Pakistan. It is one of the oldest department of university which was established in 1983 during the education student also get a chance to do internship programs with different educational institutions.[1]

History
Department of Education at University of Karachi was established in 1983. Professor Dr. Ismail Saad, Prof. Amanat Ali were founding faculty of department.in 1998 university thought that this department need more professional people to run the department very well therefore it was served by Dr.Ghulam Rasool Memon who served till in 1st April 2010 and retired as chairman of department, the major reason to found this department was to enhance facilities for advanced studies and research in the fields of education in Pakistan to explore new and creative methods of educating people around the Pakistan as well as around the globe.[2]
