The Army personnel later resold their plots or homes to civilians. The vast majority of the residents of these neighbourhood are now civilians.
The Defence Housing Society Karachi Phase I has already been developed. The Phase II is now being developed along the Super Highway, where the Defence Housing Authority, Karachi has purchased 12,000 acres (49 km²) of land from the Sindh government.
