The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology is a coeducational public university with its main campus located in Gulshan Town, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It has two other satellite campuses; Abdul Haq Campus at Baba-e-Urdu Road, Karachi and Islamabad Campus near Zero Point, Islamabad. Approximately 13,500 students are pursuing degrees primarily in technical fields, such as electrical engineering, computer science, and economics. History

Federal Urdu University was established on 13 October, 2002 by presidential order, the university is the first university in Pakistan to teach primarily in the Urdu language. It was established by up-grading two Federal Urdu Colleges: Federal Urdu Arts College, Baba-e-Urdu Road, Karachi and Federal Urdu Science College, University Road, Karachi. President Pervez Musharraf was the university's first Chancellor and Syed Kamaluddin was the Vice-Chancellor. The Islamabad Campus was established in late 2003.
