It was established in 1958.
Contents
History
The founding Chairman was Professor Dr. Mahmud Hussain.[2] Many notable Pakistanis graduated from this department including Javed Jabbar, Hussain Haqqani and Fauzia Wahab etc.

The department offers two, four and five years degree programs which as follows[3]:

The department serves approx 500 students who are studying at undergraduate, graduate and post graduate levels in morning and evening shift timings. It has a faculty of twelve permanent members and four visiting members.[4]
