Architect: Unknown Architectural style: Other Governing body: Private NRHP Reference#: 74001394 Added to NRHP: September 9, 1974[1] The David Cummins Octagon House is an historic octagonal house located at 301 Liberty Street in Conneaut, Ohio. Built in 1860, it is named for David Cummins who founded the Cummins Canning Company in Conneaut. Because the house had an underground tunnel running from it to the nearby Conneaut Creek. it has been said that the house was a station on the Underground Railroad,[2], but this has been questioned and it has been suggested that the tunnel belonged instead to a previous house located on the property.[3]
On September 9, 1974 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.[1]
