Mahona is a town and a nagar panchayat in Lucknow district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Politics

Mahona Vidhansabha is converted into Bakshi Ka talab Vidhan Sabha seat, 3/4 gomti nagar, Indira nagar, mahanagar, nishatganj, and jankipuram is out from this seat. Now this seat have only Bakshi ka talab block, chinhat block,itonja nagar panchyat, mahona nagar panchyat, balshi ka talab nagar panchyat, some area of gomti nagar and jankipuram ext. Total Voter are 2.90 lakhs. Caste numbers are 85 k Yadavs (95 % in Village Area) 90 k Harijan (99 % in Village, 55 k are raidas 32 k are rawat) 38 k Bhramin (26 K in village area and 12 k in city), 18 k Thakur (14 k in village and 4 k in city ) 18 k muslim (15 k in village and 3 k in city ) 10 k kayastha (major in city ) 6 k Baniya (major in city ) and 23 k are others caste.

First In start congress won with combination with Bhramin(Rampal Trivedi and Chandra Shekhar Trivedi),Harijan and Muslim and after 1990 Yadav come in power SP make combination of muslim yadav and BJP made Bhramin Thakur upper caste and Yadav. Yadav are deciding factor one time they move with SP (Rajendra Yadav ) and other with BJP (Gomti Yadav ).In 2002 SP make more strong due to Thakur move in SP but one thing is important that harijaan was always with BSP and BSP got always 3 rd place .in 2007 BSP play bhramin Card(Nakul Dubey) and all bhramin shift to BSP. 2007 BSP won vidshan sabha seat. There are several factors are also deciding now in 2010 that all yadav in SP (main leader is now Bindu Yadav), thakur are also strong participants in SP due to Bhagwati Singh and Thakur Pradhans. (specially Inder Pal Singh ). Harijan will continue with BSP but 50% of Rawat move to congress party. Muslim are divided into three 60 % with congress, 30% with SP and only 5% with BSP. Bhramin(90 % ) move Congress (main leaders are Alok Trivedi and Rishi Shukla). Kayashtha and baniya are also majorly move to congress.

Next 2012 candidate in Party if Sp make Rajendra Yadav as candidate ,bjp make Gomti Yadav ,Bsp make Nakul Dubey and Congress make a bhramin Candidate then total numbers will : Sp will get 70 k yadav 14 k thakur 3 k muslim 5 k others = 92 k Bsp will get 70 harijan 2 k bhramin 2 k muslim 5 k others = 79 k Bjp will get 15 K yadav 1 thakur 2 k bhramin 2 others =22 k Congress will get 34 k bhramin , 3 k thakur 10 k kayastha 8 k baniya 13 k muslim 20 k harijan and others =93 k Then next fight between SP yadav and congress Bhramin Candidate

Demographics

As of 2001^[update] India census^[1], Mahona had a population of 3,21,956. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mahona has an average literacy rate of 35%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 42%, and female literacy is 27%. In Mahona, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
