Shadow Galactica (シャドウギャラクティカ, Shadō Gyarakutika^?), a fictional organization from the Sailor Moon metaseries, groups together the villains of the fifth story arc in both the manga and the anime. Shadow Galactica as an organization devotes itself to stealing "starseeds", the essence of sentient life, from all in the universe. Its members have the ultimate goal of reorganizing the universe in the image that Chaos desires. The musicals state that they have already conquered 80% of the galaxy, and all 88 constellations - with only Usagi's solar system remaining.

Sailor Galaxia

Sailor Galaxia (セーラーギャラクシア, Sērā Gyarakushia^?) emerges as Sailor Moon's strongest opponent in the manga Stars and in its anime counterpart, Sailor Stars. As such, she serves as the main antagonist in the above-mentioned story arc. As the self-proclaimed "Golden Queen of Shadow Galactica" she directly commands the Sailor Animamates. She is also described as the Soldier of Solitude.^[1] Her goal is to discover all the Sailor Crystals in the universe so that she can rule the universe unopposed. Galaxia's own crystal, the Saffer Crystal, is described as one of the most powerful Sailor Crystals in the galaxy. Its name is Old English for "sapphire,"^[2] and the kanji applied to it in the text of the manga are 青金石 (seikinseki), meaning "lapis lazuli."

In the manga, Sailor Galaxia originated alone on a small planet she deemed "trash". She wandered alone until the day her powers awakened. But she had no purpose for herself, and felt that the mere role of a Sailor Senshi did not satisfy her; she craved something and she thought that was power. She left her planet in search of another place which she could call home. During her travels she came upon a bar, Chaos in the form of Wiseman, showed Galaxia what she was looking for—the Galaxy Cauldron. She discovered that in order for her gain control of the Galaxy Cauldron she had to gather the Sailor Crystals of all the Sailor Soldiers of the galaxy. Those powers combined together with that of Sailor Moon would give her the power to kill Chaos and rule the galaxy.

She then created Shadow Galactica and traveled to planet after planet, turning them into places of death and stealing the star-seeds of their guardian Sailor Soldiers. In her first conquest on Earth, she stole Mamoru's golden star seed right in front of Usagi's eyes; and after that, she and her minions stole the life force of each of the Sailor Soldiers on Earth until only Sailor Moon, Chibichibi and the Sailor Starlights were left. At the Galaxy Cauldron, Galaxia proceeded to battle them, until Chaos tried to kill Galaxia by blasting her off a cliff. Sailor Moon rescued her from falling over the cliff into the cauldron, and Galaxia finally realized that what she had always really wanted was love, not power. By accepting Sailor Moon's offer of friendship, the bracelets which supplied Galaxia with life and power shattered, and she died with a smile on her face.

In the anime, Sailor Galaxia once ranked as the legendarily strongest Sailor Senshi in the universe. The Sailor Wars pitted all of the Sailor Senshi against those who infringed against love and justice. Eventually, the Wars ended when Sailor Galaxia sealed the source of all malice, Chaos, within her body to save the cosmos. However, Chaos began to increase its power while sealed up. Knowing her power put the entire universe at risk, Galaxia expelled her star seed (in the form of Chibichibi) into the rural galaxy of the Milky Way, where the newly born stars of love and justice resided.

With that her acts of free will came to an end. Now completely controlled by Chaos, Sailor Galaxia sought to steal all the star seeds in the universe in order to control it for herself in the name of "Star Galaxia". In order to do this, she used the power given to her by Chaos to create a pair of Golden bracelets that granted her life and the power to extract the starseeds of many people including the Sailor senshi of every planet in the universe. During her invasion, she also found many living beings from each planet whom she granted the power of her own bracelets to do the work for her. These living beings became known as the Sailor Animamates. The planets she and the Animamates wrecked included the planet Kinmoku; the resident Sailor Soldiers and Princess Kakyuu managed to escape destruction and flee to Earth, the last place that Sailor Galaxia had not invaded.

In order to enter Earth, Sailor Galaxia first did two things. She broke the seal of Queen Nehellenia in order to force the awakening of the soldier of silence, Sailor Saturn. Galaxia wanted to have Sailor Saturn ready for Galaxia to take all the star seeds of the Solar System. After Nehellenia was defeated by Sailor Moon and she was given a second chance at life, Galaxia began her plan. As Mamoru Chiba was flying to America to begin his studies, Galaxia attacked the airplane he was traveling in and stole his golden star seed. Once this was done, she sent her Sailor Animamates to find true star seeds belonging to Sailor Soldiers - in other words, Sailor Crystals. After numerous failures, Galaxia would kill most of her Animamates by force, and eventually confronted the Sailor Soldiers herself.

Galaxia first battled Princess Kakyuu, who had recently come out of hiding. While Kakyuu succeeded in holding a barrier against Galaxia for a time, her enemies eventually overpowered and killed her. The Starlights, Guardian Senshi, and Outer Senshi each initiated their own plans of attack. The Starlights confronted Galaxia first, but before the loss of their star seeds the Guardian Senshi teleported in to rescue them. During Galaxia's attempt to steal the star seeds of the Starlights, the Guardian Senshi intervened directly, protecting them from attack and dying so that their starseeds were stolen instead.

With the battered Starlights protecting Sailor Moon and Chibichibi, the Outer Senshi confronted Galaxia. Now Galaxia revealed her hand in releasing Nehellenia and forcing Saturn to mature. Galaxia offered the Outer Senshi a chance to serve her in exchange for their starseeds — an offer which Uranus and Neptune "accepted", killing Pluto and Saturn and then proceeding to hunt down the Starlights. With their own powers enhanced by Galaxia's power, Uranus and Neptune succeeded in overpowering the Starlights, but turned on Galaxia at the last minute to try to take her starseed. Their attack failed since Galaxia had no starseed to take and the last two Outer Sailor Soldiers died.

The Starlights engaged in a final battle with Galaxia, teaming up with their attacks and managing to do some damage to her before going down in defeat. Unlike most of the other characters, though, they did not die. Galaxia crushed Sailor Star Fighter's hand and Sailor Star Yell with her heel before the Sailor Soldiers could try another assault, gloating that apart from the five in front of her - the three Starlights, Sailor Moon, and ChibiChibi - every other being in the galaxy had had their starseed removed. Sailor Moon tried to restore her to normal but her attack was stopped when Galaxia broke her scepter. In an attempt to defend the fallen Starlights, Eternal Sailor Moon expelled her starseed, which Sailor Galaxia promptly shattered. At this point Chibichibi's powers awoke, revealing her as the Light of Hope. She stops Galaxia's attack and restores Sailor Moon's star seed. Sailor Moon learns here that Chibi Chibi is the re-incarnation of Galaxia's star seed. Sailor Moon with her star seed becomes Princess Serenity and the Light of Hope transforms into the Sword of Sealing, which she asks Serenity to use as a weapon to defeat Galaxia. When Serenity is unwilling to do so, Galaxia shatters the sword and ChibiChibi disappears.

Sailor Moon continues to refuse to fight Sailor Galaxia, believing that she still has good inside her. She instead gives Galaxia the strength to expel Chaos from her body, an act which returns darkness to the minds of all life, where it belongs together with the Light of Hope. The battle finally ends: Sailor Galaxia regains her soul and releases the star seeds she had stolen. Galaxia then leaves with the task of returning the star seeds home.

In the anime, Mitsuko Horie voiced Galaxia.^[3] In the stage musicals, four different actresses have portrayed her: Saori Sara, Tamami Matsumoto, Takemi, and Yumie Sakaguchi. Matsumoto stated that she greatly enjoyed the role: "ordering people around and being above others is such a great feeling".^[4]

Chaos

Chaos (カオス, Kaosu^?) becomes the main villain in the Sailor Moon universe.

It emerges during the course of the series that Chaos sends out incarnations in the form of Sailor Moon's major enemies (Queen Metalia, Wiseman, Pharaoh 90 and Queen Nehellenia), and eventually uses Sailor Galaxia to steal Sailor Crystals so it can free itself and rule the galaxy. In the manga, when Sailor Moon fights Chaos, it appears as an enormous mass of black fourth-dimensional space. In the end, with the help of all of the Senshi, Sailor Moon is able to force it into the Galaxy Cauldron and everyone who was killed is sent back, each to their planet and time of origin, reincarnated after the battle. However it is indicated that Chaos is not dead and will come back as Sailor Chaos much the same as it did in Sailor Cosmos's future.

Sailor Chaos never appears in the anime, but Chaos appears very briefly in episode 200 when Sailor Galaxia expels her after suffering defeat. Other than this, Chaos does not appear in the anime series, save for references in the Sailor Stars story-arc where the name "Chaos" is alternately used with konton, the Japanese word for chaos. Sailor Galaxia ultimately reveals herself as the soldier who sealed Chaos within her own body and thus saved the galaxy. She holds the golden bracelets created for her by Chaos which grants her eternal life and the power to extract starseeds. She also gave each Sailor Animamates a pair to wear. Chaos possesses Galaxia, so that Galaxia can fight the Light of Hope, which is Galaxia's own star seed. But Usagi is able to reach the small bit of hope left in Galaxia's own heart, and she releases Chaos from her body, ending the anime story arc. As well as in the manga, Chaos does not die from this final confrontation; however, differently from the resolve of the manga, Chaos leaves Galaxia to inhabit the hearts of all people, which was stated to be its original residence.

In the Eien Densetsu Sailor Moon musical, Chaos appears as Kyaosu (Kyaosu, or "Chaos"), another male servant of Galaxia. He functions as comic relief: often Sailors Phi, Chi, and Theta bully him. He disguises himself as the director of a school play that the younger Senshi are starring in and also poses as the Three Lights' manager. In an amusing addition, as director he worked for "Banzai," a parody of Bandai, who sponsored the musicals at the time. His true form has multicolored streamers attached to a mohawk; he wears a black leather biker jacket and pants, exposing his chest. He is weak - Rei Hino in civilian form is able to beat him up after he works with the other Shadow Galactica members to frame Rei for a crime. Later on in the musical, he makes a deal to assist Sailor Moon, taking her and the Starlights to the Galaxy Cauldron and promising to save a Senshi from death (he saves Sailor Mercury). However, after Galaxia's defeat, Kyaosu reveals himself to be Chaos. With his power sealed inside Galaxia, he was forced to inhabit a weak physical shell. After Moon purged his energy from the Golden Senshi, however, he regains his full strength and once more threatens to destroy the galaxy. He is defeated when all the Senshi - including a revived Galaxia - combine their powers.

Ryuuji Kasahara played the role of Chaos.

Sailor Chaos

Sailor Chaos represents Chaos reborn. According to Sailor Cosmos, Chaos will emerge from the Galaxy Cauldron reborn as a powerful Sailor Senshi.^[5] Sailor Cosmos, frustrated with an ongoing battle against Sailor Chaos, disguised herself as ChibiChibi to travel back in time and convince Sailor Moon to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, and thereby to prevent Sailor Chaos emerging to start a new series of devastating wars.

Sailor Chaos never actually appears as a living character in the Stars manga, which displays a vague image only once — as a flash-forward — when mentioning her. When Sailor Moon descends into the Galaxy Cauldron, she calls upon all the powers of all the Sailor Senshi in the universe and attempts to envelop Chaos, but gets repelled at the last moment. However, with the power of all the galaxy's Sailor Crystals as one, the Cauldron is revived and the Sailor Senshi that had been killed were sent to be reborn. However, Chaos is not completely eliminated at this time and will eventually return as Sailor Chaos.^[5]

The Sailor Animamates

The Sailor Animamates (セーラーアニマメイツ, Sērā Animameitsu^?, occasionally romanized as "Sailor Anima-Mates"), Galaxia's main reapers of starseeds, appear in both the anime and the manga. They bear names prefixed by the title "Sailor" followed by the name of a metal and the name of an animal. Despite the titles, none of them is a true Sailor Senshi but merely normal living-beings who gave up their own star-seeds to Sailor Galaxia to become one — in fact, the manga reveals that each of them murdered the Senshi of their home planet in order to win Galaxia's favor. This backstory is not mentioned one way or another in the anime; instead, Princess Kakyuu states that Sailor Tin Nyanko was once a true Sailor Senshi.

The manga portrays the Sailor Animamates as people to whom Sailor Galaxia promised power, including the ability to become true Sailor Senshi after the completion of Shadow Galactica's mission. This involved each of them murdering the Sailor Senshi of her own planet. They are led by Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon.

In the anime, the Sailor Animamates disguise themselves as employees of Tokyo's primary television station, Galaxy TV (Ginga Terebi), in order to get closer to their victims. Under Sailor Galaxia's command, they search for true star-seeds whose shines can survive exposure to the outside world. Each of them were given a pair of Galaxia's golden bracelets that grants them the power to become a Sailor Senshi, extract starseeds and even turn their victims into phages. It has been told that they gave up their own Sailor Crystals to Sailor Galaxia in order to possess them therefore taking them out would instantly kill them. Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon does not appear, and Eternal Sailor Moon matches them at every turn: she alone has the power to heal phages and restore star seeds to innocents. They can warp from place to place using a black phone booth.

All five of the original Animamates appear in various Sailor Moon musicals, including Sailor Stars, Eien Densetsu, Starlights Ryuusei Densetsu, and Kakyuu Ouhi Kourin. They pose as a dance troupe called the "Dancing Animamates" and go by pseudonyms: Iron Mouse as "Chū Rat", Aluminum Seiren as "Half Bird", Lead Crow as Manila Karasu, etc. In addition, the musicals introduce two new Animamates: Sailor Pewter Fox and Sailor Titanium Kerokko.

Sailor Iron Mouse

Sailor Iron Mouse † (セーラー・アイアン・マウス, Sērā Aian Mausu^?) appears first of the Sailor Animamates. Her human pseudonym in the anime, Chiūko Nezu (根津 宙子, Nezu Chiūko^?), has a name expressing word-play: in Japanese, Chūko and Nezu are each perfectly acceptable names; however, "chū" is the sound made by mice, and nezu is short for nezumi, which means "mouse". She exhibits a personality both childlike and intense; she usually chooses famous or impressive people as her victims, seems to enjoy her work, and is openly terrified of Galaxia.^[6] True to her name of mouse, Iron Mouse is very short, at least a foot shorter than all her targets (Takeuchi's notes in the manga state that she is Chibiusa's height, but she is not quite that short in the anime).^[1] She is also afraid of cats.^[7]

Iron Mouse has a very short career in the manga, only a few pages long. She appears in Act 43, in the Fantastic Music Hall during the joint concert between the Three Lights and Michiru Kaioh. She attacks with "Galactica Crunch" before Sailor Star Healer kills her. It later emerges that Sailor Iron Mouse killed the Senshi of her home planet, Sailor Chū.

In the anime, Iron Mouse can warp from place to place using a red phone-booth that she summons and which she can also use to block attacks.^[6] When in disguise, she carries a black house-phone in her bag and keeps one in a drawer at the TV station. Both of these phones are used to speak with Galaxia, who can cause phones like these to appear before Iron Mouse anywhere or any time. She can also fire a beam of purple energy from her palms.^[8]

Iron Mouse functions as the antagonist for several episodes of the anime, but in episode 181 Galaxia takes her golden bracelets by force killing her instanty as punishment for her failure to collect starseeds, even though she had discovered the identity of Sailor Star Fighter.^[6]

In the musicals she aided in Sailor Galactica Attack.

Eriko Hara voices Sailor Iron Mouse. Hara previously voiced a yōma in the Dark Kingdom story-arc, and Unazuki Furuhata in Sailor Moon S. In the musicals, Chie Maruyama and Aki Kudo portray Sailor Iron Mouse.

Sailor Aluminum Seiren

Sailor Aluminum Seiren † (セーラー・アルーミナム・セイレーン, Sērā Arūminamu Seirēn^?) becomes the second of the Sailor Animamates to appear. The Greek word Seiren in her name means the same as the English Siren and often appears romanized as such.^[9][10] Her powers lie in her ability to create and manipulate songs, as per her name.^[1] Her human pseudonym in the anime is Reiko Aya (彩 れい子, Aya Reiko^?), which may be a pun on "puppet," "mermaid," "makeup" and "child spirit."^[11] She's very polite, ditzy and oblivious when off-duty, and is always eating or feeling hungry; once engaged in battle, however, she drops her flaws and becomes completely ruthless.

In the manga, Aluminum Siren first appears in Act 44 on the roof of Jūban High School and attacks Usagi and Seiya with Galactica Tsunami. She succeeds in stealing the starseeds of Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter, killing them; then Sailor Star Maker and Sailor Star Fighter kill her. According to the Materials Collection, she sings and writes ballads as a hobby.

In the anime, Aluminum Siren makes her first appearance in episode 182.^[12] Masquerading as Aya Reiko, she works together with Karasuma Akane (Sailor Lead Crow), who reveals that they once competed for the position of Number One Animamate. She eventually discovers Sailor Moon's identity and nearly succeeds in killing her, but the Guardian Senshi and the Sailor Starlights stopped her. Despite learning their identities, as well as finding a strong star seed, Aluminum Seiren dies at the hands of Galaxia in episode 188 by taking back own her bracelets by force for her failure to defeat Sailor Moon. As she vanishes, Sailor Lead Crow sheds tears for her death.^[13] She is the only Animamate who uses her manga attack (Galactica Tsunami) in the anime, although it consists only of throwing nearby water bottles, juice boxes, soda cans, etc. at the Senshi.

The anime explores her personality more deeply than does the manga. Other characters describe her as ditsy and airheaded,^[14] sometimes taking insults as compliments or not even realizing she's being insulted. She is also shown to have a large appetite and eats whenever she gets upset. She is extremely polite, and formally introduces herself (handing over a business card) to her targets before attacking them, much to Lead Crow's annoyance. Once a battle begins, however, her personality changes sharply. Although still slightly ditsy, she is shown to be quite clever and is able to set traps for the Sailor Senshi. For example, she points out Uranus' and Neptune's faux pas of standing on the table with their shoes on in order to fluster them to aid her escape.^[15] She shares a deep bond with Sailor Lead Crow.

Seiyū Kikuko Inoue provides her voice. In the musicals, she is played by Anri Oonuki.

Sailor Lead Crow

Sailor Lead Crow † (セーラー・レッド・クロウ, Sērā Reddo Kurō^?) is the third of the Sailor Animamates to appear. Her human pseudonym in the anime is Akane Karasuma (烏丸 あかね, Karasuma Akane^?), which is taken from the words for a certain shade of red (pronounced the same as "lead" in Japanese) and for "crow". The Tokyopop manga translated her name as Red Crow. Despite having a bad temper, she is very intelligent and is a skilled fighter, often attacking her enemies with a whip. In episode 193, she manages to defeat Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Mercury in battle, being the only Animamate to engage the Senshi in combat.

In the manga, Lead Crow first appears in Act 45 at Rei Hino's temple to confront her fellow Coronians, Phobos and Deimos — who are actually the guardians of the Princess of Mars, Rei Hino. Using Galactica Tornado, she succeeds in stealing their starseeds before Sailor Moon destroys her with her Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss attack. It is revealed that Sailor Lead Crow also killed the Sailor Senshi of her home planet, Sailor Coronis. According to the Materials Collection, besides using Galactica Tornado, Lead Crow can also manipulate rot, and is known for being a sadist.

In the anime, Lead Crow appears in Episode 182 as a partner of Aluminum Siren. She is said to be the leader of the Animamates, and calls her partner her "greatest rival"; however, she harbors great concern for her fellow Animamate, and when Aluminum Siren is killed, tries to carry on the same work. Siren's death seems to haunt her, and she thinks about her fallen comrade often. She dislikes Tin Nyanko, but partners with her for a time, which leads to her being killed by her own trap when Tin Nyanko sabotages it. As she dies, she cries out for Sailor Aluminum Siren.

Sailor Lead Crow appeared in a few of the musicals, including "Starlights - Ryuusei Densetsu" and its revision. Like the rest of the Animamates, she poses as a member of a dancing troupe known as the Dancing Animamates. She acts as choreographer for the group, an inside joke, as her actress also doubled as a choreographer for the musicals themselves.^{[citation needed]} Ryuusei Densetsu also presents herself as Japan's leading expert in Filipino dance, a play on her name.^[16]

In the anime, Sailor Lead Crow is voiced by Chiharu Suzuka. In the musicals, she is played by Ado Endoh.

Sailor Tin Nyanko

Sailor Tin Nyanko † (セーラー・ティン・にゃんこ, Sērā Tin Nyanko^?), the fourth of the Sailor Animamates to appear, has as her human pseudonym in the anime Nyanko Suzu, which is drawn from her Senshi name and from suzu, the Japanese word for both "tin" and "bell." Nyanko is a colloquial term for a cat, drawn from nyan (the Japanese equivalent of meow). Her pseudonym in the English manga is Kitty Bell. She has a cold personality, willing to kill anyone who is in her way.

In the manga, Tin Nyanko appears in Act 45 as a new transfer student from Libya. Like Lead Crow, she confronts people from her home planet, Mau—in this case, Luna and Artemis. Diana arrives and tries to protect them, but Tin Nyanko's Galactica Puppet attack transforms all three into their humanoid selves, then injures the crescent moon markings on their foreheads and turns them into ordinary and badly hurt cats. Sailor Star Fighter attacks her, and although she escapes unharmed, she is killed by Galaxia. It is revealed that Sailor Tin Nyanko killed Sailor Mau, the Senshi of her home planet. According to the Materials Collection, Tin Nyanko also has the ability to manipulate scents and supposedly has nine lives.

In the anime, Tin Nyanko appears in Episode 188 as a rival to Sailor Lead Crow and Sailor Aluminum Siren. She is partly responsible for both their deaths, and in the process learns Sailor Moon's identity. During their confrontation, Eternal Sailor Moon attempts to heal her with her attack, and succeeds only in knocking off one of her bracelets. This allows Nyanko's true personality to partially assert itself; however, she is torn between her duty to kill the Sailor Senshi and a new urge to rebel against her master. Symbolically, it also turns out that half of her body is white. This also reveals that Tin Nyako was once good but was captured by Galaxia only to be used for retrieving starseeds and killing innocent lives from many planets. Sailor Galaxia eventually resolves the situation in Episode 195 by removing her remaining bracelet and killing her off. When Tin Nyanko dies, she leaves behind a small golden bell that had been part of her uniform.

In the Sailor Stars musical and its revision, Sailor Tin Nyanko was one of Galaxia's henchwomen sent to earth to destroy the Sailor Senshi. She participated in Juuban High School's musical festival alongside the other Animamates. She was able to assist in the group attack Galactica Twister alongside Pewter Fox and Titanium Kerokko.

In the anime, she was voiced by Ikue Ōtani. She was played by Tomomi Seo and Toni Hosokawa in the musicals.

Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon

Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon (セーラー・ヘビーメタル・パ ピヨン, Sērā Hebīmetaru Papiyon^?) is the fifth and last of the Sailor Animamates to appear. Her name incorporates the French word for butterfly, pronounced as in French papiyon; in Japanese culture, butterflies are often considered to be symbolic of the soul. In the Materials Collection artbook, and the musical Ryuusei Densetsu, the word "Heavy" is omitted from her name. She only shows up in Act 49 of the manga, and not the anime.

Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon comes from the planet Cocoon.^[1] The Materials Collection also states that Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon manipulates fire, and attacks with "Galactica Scales," although this attack is not named in the manga. Furthermore, she is described as a parent as well as a samba dancer, and has "high sex appeal."

Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon is the de facto leader of the Animamates, but appears only in act 49 of the manga and does not appear in the anime. Known as the "soul hunter," she guards a graveyard in the center of the galaxy, surrounded by butterflies. These butterflies are the remnants of the dead Sailor Senshi whose Sailor Crystals had been taken.

She shows Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Kakyuu, and ChibiChibi the graves that had been dug for them, binds them with vines, and prepares to burn them to death. The three are saved by the arrival of Sailor Chibi Moon and the Sailor Quartet, who break the vines with their group attack, "Pink Ladies' Freezing Kiss". The Sailor Quartet later destroy Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon with their group attack, "Amazoness Jungle Arrow".

She also appears in the musicals, portrayed by Keiko Endoh.

Sailor Pewter Fox

Sailor Pewter Fox

Sailor Pewter Fox is the leader of the Animamates in the Sailor Stars musical, replacing both Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon and Sailor Lead Crow.^[17] She does not appear in any other continuity. The allusion of a normally "red" animal in place of the "Red Crow" lends strength to this idea. While her animal namesake is red, she actually wears gray, likely in reference to the metal in her name. She also got many solos, indicating the character's high rank. She was sent to earth to destroy the Sailor Senshi. She participated in Juuban High School's musical festival alongside the other Animamates.

She attacks with Galactica Mirage, and aids Tin Nyanko and Titanum Kerokko in Galactica Twister. She also aided in Sailor Galactica Attack.

Like all of the other Animamates, she wears golden braclets, implying that she no longer has a star seed. Little else is known about her, as she only ever appeared in this musical.

Two actresses have played her: Rei Ku and Junko Iemura.

Sailor Titanium Kerokko

Sailor Titanium Kerokko

Sailor Titanium Kerokko appears in the two versions of the Sailor Stars musical, and in Eien Densetsu, where she is called Sailor Mitis Kerokko. She does not appear in any other continuity.

Her name comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia for the noise that a frog makes.^[18] Like the other Animamates, she wears golden bracelets, implying that she no longer has a star seed. Little else is revealed about her character.

She had no attack of her own, but instead aided Tin Nyanko and Pewter Fox in Galactica Twister. She also aided in Sailor Galactica Attack.

She has been played by two actresses, Haruko Yamaguchi and Megumi Wakamatsu.

Servants

Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne

Sailor Lethe (セーラー・レテ, Sērā Rete^?) and Sailor Mnemosyne (セーラー・ムネモシュネ, Sērā Munemoshune^?) appear only in Act 48 of the manga. They are twin sisters^[1] and come from the planets Lethe and Mnemosyne, respectively. Their planets were small, poor, and plagued by violence and chaos. When Galaxia appeared and brought death and ruin, the two had no choice but to follow her in the hopes of someday finding peace.

Sailor Lethe is named for a naiad in Greek mythology, and for a river of the Greek underworld where dead souls go to forget their past lives before being reincarnated. Sailor Mnemosyne is named for the Titaness of memory, the mother of the muses, as well as another river in the underworld which brought remembrance and omniscience.

Sailor Lethe first introduces herself as the ferryman of the desert river. She traps Eternal Sailor Moon at the bottom of the River of Oblivion, kills Luna, Artemis, and Diana, and attacks Sailor Moon. She is stopped by Sailor Mnemosyne, who says that Sailor Moon has been hurt enough.

Lethe says that Sailor Moon's Sailor Crystal, the Ginzuishou, is the cause for all of the wars they are experiencing, and that if it is destroyed, there will be peace. Sailor Moon offers her life if it will end the violence. Lethe and Mnemosyne are so moved by her self-sacrifice that they realize that whether or not Sailor Moon dies, the war will continue. Just as they are about to release the Senshi, Sailor Chi and Sailor Phi appear. These call Lethe and Mnemosyne useless fools and take their Sailor Crystals, which kills them.

Sailor Lethe has an attack called "Galactica Myosotis Alpestris," which she used to attack Usagi. Myosotis alpestris is the name of an alpine species of Forget-me-not.

Sailor Chi and Sailor Phi

Appearing only in the manga and musicals, Sailor Chi (セーラー・カイ, Sērā Kai^?) and Sailor Phi (セーラー・ファイ, Sērā Fai^?) may be Galaxia's most loyal servants. They are named for two letters of the Greek alphabet, which are written X (Chi) and Φ (Phi).

The pair are known as the Starseed Gardeners, or the Garden Crystal Senshi, and watch over the starseeds that are kept in the gardens around Galaxia's palace. They serve as messengers for Galaxia, overseeing her other servants and reporting on their actions. Sailor Phi first appears in Act 45, reporting Sailor Aluminum Seiren's failure. Sailor Chi appears later, in Act 48.

Sailor Chi and Sailor Phi are responsible for the deaths of all three Sailor Starlights, Princess Kakyuu, and probably many others. They are defeated by Eternal Sailor Moon in Act 49, but not before they greatly increase Sailor Galaxia's power.

The two have similar outfits; Chi's is green, bares her midriff, and ends in a long skirt slit to the thighs. Phi's is red, covers her midriff, and ends in pants. Each carries a staff with a sun symbol on top of it, which they can use to fight. Sailor Phi also uses an attack called Galactica Plants Blizzard.

In the musicals they use a group attack with the Sailor Theta called Galactica Cry, and one with Theta and Buttress and MC Fly called Sailor Galactica Attack. Their costumes are also altered to be completely different from their manga counterparts and to match Sailor Theta. In each of their musical appearances, they, along with Sailor Theta were Galaxia's lowest ranked followers. They were dressed almost identical and were rarely given any dialogue. They received their orders from the other members of Shadow Galactica. There was no indication that they had a special role as Star Gardeners.

In the musicals Sailor Phi's outfit had green highlights and she had orange hair, while Sailor Chi's outfit had red highlights and she had green hair.

Sailor Chi has been portrayed on stage by Ado Endoh, Sachiko Akimoto, and Mari Yasuda. Sailor Phi has been portrayed by Kaori Ishikawa, Rieko Akimoto and Mika Komura.

Sailor Theta

Sailor Theta (セーラーシータ, Sērā Shīta^?) only appears in several of the Sailor Moon musicals and does not appear in the anime or manga. She is a servant of Galaxia always seen accompanying Sailors Phi and Chi and, like them, is named after a Greek letter (Theta, written Θ). The three of them are referred to as the Galactica Troops. Theta disguises herself as a student or a backup dancer for the Three Lights (depending on the musical) in order to observe the Sailor Senshi and eventually attacks them with her partners. Theta does not have an individual attack, instead only shouting Sailor Galactica Attack, and Galactica Cry alongside Phi and Chi. In Eien Densetsu (Kaiteiban) two members of the Galactica Troops use Galactica Twister and Dark Power Theta is eventually killed by Galaxia herself, along with Phi and Chi, for being too weak.^{[citation needed]} Like the other musical-exclusive characters, nothing of her origin is revealed. The three of them have more than one uniform, dependent on the musical. In the Sailor Stars Musical she went by the name Shadow Bug. This bug theme was dropped for the revision.

She did not appear in the 12th musical, which was also based on the Sailor Stars series - she and the others were replaced instead by the Shitennou.

Sailor Theta has been played by Yūko Matsumoto, Ado Endoh, and Azusa Katagiri.

Sailor Buttress

Sailor Buttress (セーラー・バトレス, Sērā Batoresu^?) only appears in one of the Sailor Moon musicals (specifically, Sailor Stars). By definition, buttresses function as decorative supports for buildings, and Sailor Buttress functions the same way to Galaxia. She is Galaxia's adviser,^[19] and gives orders to the Animamates, MC Fly, and Chi, Phi, and Theta. She also announces Galaxia's entry, functioning as a herald.

Her costume closely resembles Galaxia's: made of black, leathery material instead of golden metal; and she carries a metal fan. Her red hair is done up in the same fashion as Galaxia's, without the warrior-knot on top. Because of both these facts, she bears a striking resemblance to Galaxia's fully possessed form from the anime, sans wings, with a normal complexion (instead of grey), and retaining the golden bracelets. Nothing of her origin is revealed, although her wearing of the bracelets implies that she no longer has a starseed.

She had no attack of her own, but instead shouted Sailor Galactica Attack alongside the other members of the Galactica. Unlike the other members other than Galaxia, she does not take on a civilian identity in the musical.

Shiori Seki portrayed Sailor Buttress.

MC Fly

MC Fly, a male servant of Galaxia, led a trio of insect-based villains: Shadow Mantis (Sailor Phi), Shadow Bug (Sailor Chi), and Shadow Bee (Sailor Theta). He only appeared in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars musical and its revised edition. He appeared first as the Master of Ceremonies (hence his name) for a school talent-competition, clad in a Phantom of the Opera styled outfit. His true form was that of a fly-man, with antenna on his head and wings. He could shapeshift and took the form of Endymion to fight Tuxedo Mask. After the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars musical, the bug theme was dropped.

He does not have an attack of his own, but he does perform Sailor Galactica Attack alongside the rest of Shadow Galactica.

Ryuuji Kasahara, who later played Kyaosu, portrayed him.

Other members

In the manga, Galaxia revives Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Team and forces them into her service. While under her control, they battle Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Sailor ChibiChibi with evil "Galactica" versions of their normal attacks. They attack in turn and together, injuring Sailor Moon and breaking her wings before she finally destroys their bracelets. They are reduced to ash, but their Sailor Crystals hang in the air briefly before Galaxia reclaims them.

In the anime, Galaxia frees Queen Nehellenia from the seal and encourages her to take her revenge by unleashing a nightmare upon the "people of the White Moon". Galaxia provides her with the Black Mirror to aid her in her plans. After dragging Mamoru into her nightmare dimension, she captures all the Sailor Soldiers, and after a powerless Usagi confronts her, her tragic past is revealed. However, Nehellenia is ultimately redeemed by their forgiveness, and reborn as a small child around Chibiusa's physical age. She is referred to as "Queen" even at this age, and she only remembers everything as a bad dream. It is not revealed until the final few episodes that Galaxia contracted Nehellenia into her service for the sole purpose of forcing Sailor Saturn to reawaken her Senshi powers, as at the time Hotaru was merely an infant.

In the anime, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune willingly join her so that they can "remain together forever". Shortly afterwards they kill Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn. While they initially lead Eternal Sailor Moon and the Starlights to believe that they are under Galaxia's control, their act is just a ruse to get close enough to Galaxia to kill her. When she orders them to take the Starseeds of Sailor Moon and the Starlights, they turn on her and attempt to take her starseed instead. However, because Galaxia no longer has her starseed, their sneak attack fails and she removes their bracelets. They die holding each others hand moments later. This scene is replicated in various musicals featuring Galaxia and has the song Orleans no Sei Senshi~Uranus-Neptune no Uragiri (Holy Soldiers of Orleans~Uranus and Neptune's betrayal) appear in each version.

In the musicals, Galaxia often resurrects old Sailor Moon villains to join her other servants. Most frequently she brings back Queen Beryl, who works with Galaxia in Eien Densetsu, its revised edition, and Shin Densetsu Kourin. The Amazon Trio are made members in Shin Densetsu Kourin. Beryl's Shitennou are revived alongside her in Starlights - Ryuusei Densetsu and Kakyuu-Ouhi Kourin - The Second Stage Final.

Phage

The term phage (ファージ, fāji^?) occurs only in the anime. It describes any monster of the week formed by the use of Galaxia's golden armlets which are infused with the power of Chaos and are used by a Sailor Animamate. When the shine of a person's starseed dies, his or her body becomes a sort of parody Senshi (gender being retained). They change shape based on their dominant personality trait or hobby, and take on exaggerated mannerisms and names such as "Sailor Guts", "Sailor Teacher", or "Sailor Antique".

In the anime, after an animamate has extracted the starseed from a normal person they would often abandons each of them upon discovering that the victim has a "blank" — a "normal" starseed before their brightness fades away. A person's starseed will then turn black as it corrupts and transforms the person into a phage. After fighting the Phage, Eternal Sailor Moon has the power to restore them to their normal forms and to return their normal starseed back into their human bodies using the Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss attack and the Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss attack. In the anime Princess Kakyuu is implied to have this power as well.^[20]

It should be noted that those who possess a real star seed do not turn into a phage because they hold the true star seeds that eternally shine. An example was during Episode 193, when Sailor Lead Crow forced Usagi to surrender her star seed. After extracting it from her, surprisingly she does not turn into a phage as she possessed what Lead Crow considers to be a 'true' star seed or a Sailor Crystal that is strong enough to shine longer. However, when starseeds are taken from a Sailor Senshi or a normal person, their body fades away killing them instantly. The anime, however, never explained the true origins of phages but it is assumed that they are the products of Chaos' power which was infused onto Sailor Galaxia's golden bracelets and were also given to the Sailor Animamates in exchange for their star seeds.

While phage do not appear in the manga or musicals, they are referenced in one of the songs in the musical.

It is also possible that phage are supposed to be something of slap-in-the-face parodies of Sailor Moon fanfiction characters, who often take on the identities as "senshi" of numerous objects, acitivities, animals, places, ect. even though it is directly stated that only celestial bodies can be assigned a senshi. This is however, never confirmed.

Sailor Buri

• First Appearance: "A Goodbye and an Encounter! The Destiny of Flowing Stars"

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Alice Itsuki's Star Seed from her body, believing her to be the possible holder of a true Star Seed. She was the first Phage to be fought by Sailor Moon, and her appearance and attacks were based around Alice's talent as an actress and idol. She wore a costume with a yellow fish tail, a hood shaped like a fish's head and a brassiere resembling two pink fish kissing each other. Like all Phage, her outfit featured a sailor collar. Her face was covered in heavy make-up. She attacked using a microphone covered in metal spikes, and it could be used in much the same way as a mace. Also, the microphone cable could extend in order to reach her opponent.
She was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss.

Sailor Guts

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Yuji Kayama's Star Seed. He was a large and muscular, with short dark hair and heavy eyebrows, similar to his human form. His skin and his ears were pointed, and he wore a skimpy outfit that featured a sailor collar and bow, briefs and small angel wings on his back. Sailor Guts used an attack in which he threw large globules of sweat which both smelled foul and burned like acid.

Sailor Gekisha

• First Appearance: "Go for an Idol! Minako's Ambition"

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Saki Itabashi's Star Seed. She had green skin and wore a costume featuring a hat resembling a turtle's head, white sailor collar and a red turtle shell on her back. Sailor Gekisha attacked by shooting a beam of light from an objective attached to her wrist.

Sailor Director

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Wataru Amanogawa's Star Seed. He had light gray skin and green hair, and wore a mask over his eyes. He wore clothing based on the Juuban Municipal High School uniform, with the addition of a pair of chalkboard erasers stuck to his upper arms. He also had a pencil stuck behind one ear, and carried a large expandable pointer. Sailor Teacher attacked by throwing pieces of chalk at his opponent or attacking with his pointer.
He was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss.

Sailor Ojou

• First Appearance: "Luna Saw It! The True Idol Yaten"
• Seiyu: Yumi Takada

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Noriko Okamachi's Star Seed. She had greyish-white skin, pointed ears and long pink hair. She originally appeared wearing a tight red dress, but pulled it off to fight in a skimpy blue outfit with thigh-high lavender stockings and a yellow sailor collar. She attacked her opponents by using a whip.
She was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss.

Sailor Chef

• First Appearance: "Enemies? Allies? Starlights and Sailor Senshi"
• Seiyu: Unshou Ishizuka

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Tetsurou Yoshinogawa's Star Seed. He had a body made of metal, including a metal chef's hat. He also had a large cooking pot on his back filled with varioius kitchen tools, which he would remove and use to attack.
He was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss.

Sailor Conductor

• First Appearance: "Brightness of Calling Stars! Haruka and Michiru's Entry into Battle"
• Seiyu: Takkou Ishimori

A Phage created when Sailor Iron Mouse removed Garajan's Star Seed. He had red eyes, red skin and wore a tuxedo. Sailor Conductor attacked by throwing batons at his opponents, in a series of techniques he called "movements". The first movements was "piano", the second movement was "cello" and the third movement was "violin". The fourth movement was likely to deal with a mortal blow, but was not seen as he was interrupted before he could finish the attack.

Sailor Cop

Sailor Artist

A Phage created when Sailor Aluminum Seiren removed Kengo Ibuki's Star Seed. When Kengo's Star Seed turned black, he became a Phage based on his skill as a ceramic artist. He looked like a humanoid lump of clay with red eyes and a fanged mouth. Sailor Artist usually attacked with a large sledgehammer, but could also form clay pots out of his stomach and hurl them at his target.

Sailor Sommelier

• First Appearance: "Night Between Us! Usagi's Pinch"
• Seiyu: Kouji Tsujitani

A Phage created when Sailor Aluminum Seiren removed Jun Godai's Star Seed. Jun's Star Seed turned out to be blank and he turned into a Phage based on his job as a TV personality reporting on food people eating for dinner. He had the appearance of a humanoid wine bottle wearing a waiter costume. Sailor Sommelier attacked by spraying red wine out of a bottle at the end of his arm.

Sailor Doctor

• First Appearance: "Taiki Sings with Excellence! A Song Carries a Believing Heart's Wish"
• Seiyu: Yoshio Kawai

A Phage created when Sailor Aluminum Seiren removed Doctor Gai's Star Seed. He had lavender skin and pointed ears, and wore green scrubs with a white collar, a surgical mask, large glasses and knee-high black boots. His right arm hypodermic needle, and his left arm was normal though he wore a pink surgical glove. Sailor Doctor used the hypodermic needle on his right arm as a weapon.

Sailor Antique

• First Appearance: "Chibi Chibi's Mystery! The Big Noisy Chase"

A Phage created when Sailor Aluminum Seiren removed Jotaro Kiriyama's Star Seed. He wore a suit of poorly-fitting armor over a sailor outfit which included a kilt-like skirt. Sailor Antique primarily fought with a sword, and at one point used a power-up move in which he summoned a white horse and rode in a charge at his target.

Sailor Leaguer

A Phage created when Sailor Lead Crow removed Sonoko Ijuuin's Star Seed. She wore a costume based on a softball uniform which was decorated with softballs. Sailor Leaguer attacked by throwing a large number of softballs at a high velocity toward her target.

Sailor Stewardess

• First Appearance: "An Invitation to Terror! Usagi's Night Flight"
• Seiyu: Mizue Ohtsuka and Emi Uwagawa

Three Phage created when Sailor Aluminum Seiren removed the Star Seeds of the stewardesses on the airplane. They had the appearance of humanoid airplanes. The Sailor Stewardesses attacked by using items related to their jobs. Uniquely, they were never thought to be holders of a True Star Seed, and were instead conviant victims to turn into Phage to use in a trap.
They were restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss.

Sailor DJ

• First Appearance: "Torn Between Duty and Friendship! Confrontation Between Sailor Senshi"
• Seiyu: Junichi Kanemaru

A Phage created when Sailor Lead Crow removed removed DJ Jack's Star Seed. He wore a costume decorated with speakers. Sailor DJ attacked his opponents by throwing sharp-edged CDs.
He was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss.

Sailor Amuse

• First Appearance: Truth Revealed! Seiya, Taiki, and Yaten's Past"
• Seiyu: Kouji Ishii

A Phage created when Sailor Lead Crow Takeo Shiro's Star Seed. His Star Seed quickly turned black, and he turned into a Phage based on his identity as the owner of an amusement park. Sailor Amuse wore a clown costume and fired balloon-like missiles towards his opponents.
He was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss.

Sailor Gamer

• First Appearance: "When a Light Butterfly Dances in the Air! Forsight of the New Wave"
• Seiyu: Akiko Hiromatsu

A Phage created when Sailor Lead Crow Reiko Kanagawa's Star Seed. Because of Reiko's identity as a gaming idol, Sailor Gamer looked like a video game character, with green skin,devil wings , white & pink hair, fangs, and a pair of bat-like wings, and she wore a red and black outfit with pink accents. Sailor Gamer used a variety of magical attacks which were powerful enough that the Sailor Senshi had a difficult time fighting her.
She was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss.

Sailor Musician

• First Appearance: "Straight to Your Dream! Idol Minako is Born"
• Seiyu: Sho Hayami

A Phage created when Sailor Tin Nyanko removed Takuya Moroboshi's Star Seed. His costume included several different instruments, such as drumstick "antennae" in his hair, piano keys forming a collar around his neck and drums on his shoulders. Sailor Musician carried a keytar which he used to attack, as when he played the notes on the instrument it fired energy blasts from the neck.
He was restored to normal by Eternal Sailor Moon's Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss.
