Muswellbrook railway station is a station on the Main North (Scone) branch of the CityRail regional network's Hunter Line, and serves the town of Muswellbrook, New South Wales.

The station is the site of a former rail freight yard. The Merriwa section of the Ulan line branches off the main north line at the northern end of the rail yard.

In early 2007, the Australian Rail Track Corporation commenced work to rationalise the tracks within the yard and add a passing loop long enough to accommodate 1500 metre long freight trains. Upon completion of that work, freight trains will be able to pass through the yard area at 80 kilometres per hour, improving travel times.

In March 2009, duplication of the Main North line reached Muswellbrook station, the completion of a project to upgrade the line to double track between Antiene and Muswellbrook to improve coal haulage capacity.[1]
