The station is served by intercity trains to Sydney and Newcastle on the Newcastle and Central Coast Line, and is the terminus for off-peak local services to Newcastle.
The construction of the Sydney to Newcastle line through Morisset led to the downfall of thriving local community Cooranbong, which was the point which river shipments landed.[2]
