The upper floor consists of a dance hall with a balcony.[2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.[1]
History
The Danes Hall was organized by eleven members of the Danish club on January 6, 1877.[3] The group grew to a maximum membership of 300 members before dwindling to 32 by 1940.[3]
The building was designed by William Waters.[1] The building contained a library with over 1000 books.[3] After being a gathering place until 1945,[3] it sat idle for about a decade until becoming a factory. Later in the century it started being used to sell antiques which is its current use as of the end of 2010.[2]
