The barangay's total land area is approximately 65.60[2] and has a population of469[3]as of 2007. In the last 2010 National election, it has 277[4]registered voters.
Barangay Cuya celebrates its annual fiesta every February 6 in honor of their patron saint.

Location
Located on the eastern part of the municipality, barangay Cuya is surrounded by Bohol Sea to the south, east and west. It is bounded by barangay Guintabo-an to the north. Cuya and has approximate distance of 18 km from the town center, Poblacion.
Etymology
Barangay Cuya is once a sitio of barangay Juagdan. The name came from the Visayan word Cuya, which means eldest brother.
Government
There are three puroks or units in the barangay manned by the elected kagawads including the Punong Barangay or Barangay chairman.
