Closed 1840Replaced by Globe Road Devonshire Street railway station was a station in the parish of Mile End Old Town, in the East End of London. It was opened on 29 June 1839[1] as the temporary terminus for the Eastern Counties Railway from Romford prior to the construction of Bishopsgate (initially called Shoreditch).[2] The station closed in 1843;[3] in 1884 Globe Road railway station opened nearby to the west of the site of Devonshire Street.
Devonshire Street, after which the station was named, was later incorporated into the northern part of Bancroft Road, running east-west next to the tracks. The station was at the junction with Globe Road.[4]
