Towards the end of its life it was only an unstaffed single platform terminus serving as the end of a short branch line toElmers End station via one other station, Woodside.History
Opened by the
Mid Kent Railway it was part of the South Eastern Railway which became part of the Southern Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to theSouthern Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948. When Sectorisation was introduced, the station was served byNetwork SouthEast until thePrivatisation of British Rail ways.The station also underwent several changes of name: :
