Poplar (East India Dock Road) railway station was a former railway station in Poplar, London. It opened in 1850 and was the southern terminus of the North London Railway after 1865, although goods trains carried on to connect to the London and Blackwall Railway or Millwall Extension Railway to reach the East India Docks or West India Docks respectively.
The station was situated on the East India Dock Road and is often referred to as Poplar railway station; however there was another Poplar railway station, on the London & Blackwall Railway, which was situated on Brunswick Street near the northern entrance of the Blackwall Tunnel. Neither station is on the site of the current Poplar DLR station.
Poplar (East India Dock Road) closed in 1944 after Blitz damage had cut off the NLR east of Dalston Junction and never re-opened. When the Docklands Light Railway, which took over the Poplar-Bow line, was built in the 1980s, Poplar station was completely demolished and All Saints DLR station was built on the site.
