- A warm welcome to the Elbe-Weser Triangle portal, the home of Wikipedia information on this important coastal region of Germany. The portal gives a brief overview of the region as well as acting as an index for many of the articles about the Elbe-Weser Triangle on English Wikipedia.
The Elbe-Weser Triangle region
... lies in northern Lower Saxony between the estuaries of the rivers Weser and Elbe. Its corners are formed roughly by the two Hanseatic cities of Bremen and Hamburg, as well as the town of Cuxhaven at its northwestern tip. It largely coincides with the historic province of Stade province of Stade, and hence the former territory of Bremen-Verden (Duchy of Bremen and Duchy of Verden).
Today the area includes the rural districts of:
Stade, Cuxhaven, Osterholz, Rotenburg, Verden (only part of the latter),
and the town of Bremerhaven.
The southern half of the district of Rotenburg forms the transition to the Lüneburg Heath, and the district of Verden to the Middle Weser Region and likewise to the Lüneburg Heath. More...
