TLC (Travel and Living Channel) was launched in 2004, formerly it was known as the Discovery Travel and Adventure Channel. Programming on the channel consists primarily of travel and lifestyle, and consists mainly of programming seen on the flagship Travel Channel in the United States.

It was formerly available on SelecTV from March 2007 until the closure of its English service in late 2010.^[1][2]

On September 1st 2010, Discovery Travel & Living rebranded as TLC. Unlike the channel TLC in the United States, TLC in Australia and New Zealand is an acronym for "Travel and Living Channel", instead of being a meaningless acronym (though it originally stood for "The Learning Channel" in the U.S.), and airs none of the U.S. service's programming. The channel also converted to 16:9 aspect ratio during the conversion.^[3]
