Station information
Moray Firth Radio operates two separate services on 97.4 FM (from the Mounteagle transmitter) and 1107 AM.
MFR on FM largely broadcasts contemporary and chart music-led programming alongside hourly news bulletins and traffic & sports updates. The majority of the station's output is produced and broadcast from the Inverness studios. Networked programming shared with the rest of Bauer's Scottish FM stations, is carried between 10pm & 6am each night and on weekend mornings, and broadcasts from Clyde 1's Glasgow studios and Forth 1's Edinburgh studios. As of Saturday 24 September 2011, the station also airs a weekly bilingual music programme in English and Scots Gaelic.[1]
MFR Two on AM airs specialist programming on Sunday - Friday evenings and live sports coverage on Saturday afternoons with automated music broadcast at all other times. The station does not take any output from Bauer's network of AM stations elsewhere in Scotland.
In addition to the main services, there are several local relay stations which opt-out of MFR FM to broadcast local programming during the evening.
