Vallentuna is a bimunicipal urban area or locality of Sweden which stretches over two municipalities in Stockholm County, in the Roslagen region. The population as of 2008 is 28,665. The part of the locality which is situated in Vallentuna Municipality is the seat of that municipality.The southern part, situated in Täby Municipality, is called Täby kyrkby. Vallentuna's cultural landscape is well-preserved, and human habitation in the area has been traced back as far as the stone age. Archeological excavations in southern Vallentuna near Lilla Gävsjö uncovered remains of a stone age settlement.
