Kiss 105-108 is the East of England's regional radio station broadcast from Reflection House, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, broadcasting dance music and R'n'B across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and North Essex.

Kiss 105-108 was previously known as Vibe 105-108 or Vibe FM which ran successfully from November 22, 1997 until relaunched on September 6, 2006 as part of the Kiss network alongside sister station Vibe 101 in Bristol (which became Kiss 101 on the same date) and Kiss 100, London.

All three Kiss stations started to carry the new Kiss logo, and the core music genre became more balanced between dance and urban. Both Kiss 105-108 and Kiss 101 retained some shows and DJs who previously presented under the Vibe brand, but now offer shows that are simulcast by one DJ across all three stations including international high profile DJs such as "Friday Night Kiss" with Steve Smart, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren and John Digweed.

The station broadcasts on 106.4 MHz (FM Mendlesham 20 kW and the strongest signal by far which can be heard in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire), 106.1 MHz FM (Stoke Holy Cross, near Norwich), 105.6 MHz FM (Madingley, near Cambridge), and 107.7 MHz FM (Gunthorpe; a district of Peterborough). Kiss 105-108 can also sometimes be heard across Lincoln, South Essex even the edge of Bedfordshire and Greater London although not officially serving these areas.

Kiss 105-108 currently broadcasts in DAB format to Cambridge, Norwich and Peterborough.

History

The station was founded by the Essex Radio Group, who at the time owned a handful of local radio stations, the largest being Essex FM. Shortly after the group was bought by Daily Mail and in 1998 acquired by DMGT.

In 2000, the Essex Radio Group concern of DMGT was purchased by the GWR Group, (now part of the 'Global' radio concern) in a joint venture with Scottish Radio Holdings (SRH). At this point in time the GWR group also acquired Galaxy 101 (Renamed to Vibe 101) from the Chrysalis media group (now owned by Global Radio), extending the Vibe brand to South Wales and the West. For ownership reasons, the two Vibe stations were 'owned' by Vibe Radio Holdings, a company invented by and jointly owned by GWR and SRH.Scottish Radio Holdings bought both Vibe stations outright from GWR in 2003.

In June 2005 the EMAP group acquired SRH. Emap was then bought by Bauer in January 2008.

The most recent figures published by the independent body RAJAR are for Quarter 2 2008:

They show very healthy growth with the station increasing audience from Q1 to Q2.

Reach: 298,000 listeners, which is UP 21,000 quarter on quarter and UP 25,000 year on year Average hours per week: 6.9 Market share: 4.8% UP year on year (from 4.6%)

Of particular note is Kiss Breakfast with Stuart Grant gaining another 5,000 listeners now reaching more than 142,000 adults.This quarter has delivered the most number of listeners since the station has been part of the Kiss group.

All weekday shows are currently commercial market leaders and Kiss 105-108 has more 15-34 listeners than any other radio station in the East of England.

Kiss 105-108 remains the most listened to commercial radio station in the East of England.
