Davis Langdon an AECOM company, is a construction consultancy firm headquartered in London, UK with 30 offices throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East, and over 100 worldwide. The firm has a turnover of £154 million throughout Europe and the Middle East and £580 million globally. It has 2,239 employees in Europe and the Middle East and over 5,000 employees in more than 100 offices working in 35 countries worldwide.

History

The firm was established by Horace W Langdon in Holborn in 1919.[1] He was joined by Tom Every in 1921 and the firm became Horace W Langdon & Every.[1] The firm became Langdon Every & Seah in 1969 when the contribution by Seah Mong Hee in the Far East was recognised.[1]

In 1988 the firm merged with Davis Belfield & Everest (a firm formed in 1931 by Owen Davis who was joined in 1935 by John Belfield and in 1944 by Bobbie Everest) becoming Davis Langdon & Seah International.[2] In July 2007 it merged with the Mackenzie Partnership, a large Scottish-based practice.[3]

In 2009 Davis Langdon acquired DEGW, an international strategic consultancy.

In 2010 Davis Langdon was acquired by AECOM.

Davis Langdon and Seah International (DLSI) is an award-winning global construction consultancy and a parent firm which incorporates Davis Langdon and Davis Langdon Seah. Its services include project and cost management.

Davis Langdon has over 2,750 people in 75 offices, and it operates throughout Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Europe and the Middle East, and the USA. Davis Langdon Seah has over 2,000 people in 32 offices in 11 countries across Asia.

The specific services offered by the company include cost consultancy, project management, CDM coordinator and health and safety services, management consulting, legal support, specification consulting, engineering services, property tax and finance. The firm provides these services for clients investing in infrastructure, property and construction. Davis Langdon, LLP has worked on a number of high profile projects including facilities for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tate Modern and Royal Festival Hall in London and the Eden Project in Cornwall.

It has been the recipient of a number of industry awards including being voted Top International Construction Consultant for fifteen successive years and was named Building magazine’s Construction Consultant/Surveyor for three consecutive years. The firm was named one of the Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ for four consecutive years, in 2008 was placed at number 19, and was the only project and cost management consultancy to be included in the top 50.[4]

  • Building magazine’s “Consultant/ Surveyor of the Year” in 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Runners up in the top four in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2002.

  • World Architecture’s “Top International Cost Consultant” for 17 years in succession as voted for by the world's leading architects and their clients.
  • One of the Sunday Times '100 Best Companies to Work For' for the fifth year in 2009.
