Hoare Lea is a professional services firm specializing in mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering for construction. Hoare Lea was founded in 1862 by Edwin Hoare and Henry Lea who designed the first air conditioning system at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. The firm is one of the oldest engineering consultancies in the world with over 600 staff based in ten offices throughout the UK. The head office is located in Aztec West Business Park in Bristol. The other offices are located in Birmingham, Cardiff, Isle Of Man, Leeds, London, Manchester, Oxford, Plymouth and Poole. Hoare Lea's motto is "Sustainability Through Innovation".

Initial Professional Development Scheme

Hoare Lea has a comprehensive and structured Initial Professional Development (IPD) Scheme designed to train its first and second year graduates to become competent engineers. The scheme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). The firm also has strong links with University of the West of England (UWE) and University of Bristol. Last year, they recruited over 60 graduates across the UK to strengthen its position in the construction industry.
