Chancellor's School in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire, is a secondary school (including sixth form). It has 1043 boys and girls aged 11-18. It is a foundation comprehensive school, specialising in maths and computing.
Headmaster
Chancellor's School is undergoing a change in headmaster. Mr. Phillips is leaving the school and a temporary headmaster has been appointed. Dr. Josephine Valentine from St Clement Danes School has been appointed while the school welcome numerous prospectus headmasters applying for the job.
History
The school opened in 1964, marking the end of a campaign by parents and local residents for the village to have its own secondary school. Chancellor's was opened by the then Lord Chancellor Gerald Gardiner with which is how the school was named. Lilian Caras's history sets out the circumstances leading up to the building of the school and charts its development. The school became a specialist in mathematics and ICT 2006 with its continued investment in these areas.
Chancellors School's GCSE standards continued to rise up until 2003-2004 when it reached its record of over 73% of pupils passed GCSE with at least 5 Cs.External links
