It is situated in Bangalore, India, on the Christ University[2]-Dharmaram College[3] campus.
SLCU is approved by the Bar Council of India to conduct the five year B.A.,LL.B. course and a five year BBA,LLB course.
Contents
Admission
Candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks at the final examination are eligible to appear for the entrance examination.[4] The candidates should also be below the age of 21 years as on 1 April of the year for which they are seeking admission. In 2006, while it was Christ College of Law (CCL), it admitted students on the basis of a personal interview. In 2007, it held an All India Entrance Test (AIET) in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi and Bangalore. Candidates were called for a personal interview in Bangalore, with sufficient representations from all regions. In 2008, SLCU once again conducted AIET in the same cities. Selected candidates after the AIET were then called for group discussion (GD), personal presentation (PP) and personal interview (PI) at Bangalore.
Course Structure
The curriculum for the BA.,LLB[5] course is a mix of social science subjects and legal subjects. In the first two years, students are taught History, Political Science, Sociology and Economics along with value-added courses such as Introduction to Law and Legal Methods. After the first two years, it is mostly legal subjects that constitute the curriculum. The curriculum of the BBA LLB course is similar, except management Courses such as Human Resource Management, Business Environment and Marketing are conducted in place of political science.
