Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School is situated on the rural fringe of St Albans, an old Roman city in Hertfordshire, England. As of 2009 there were 1100 students on its roll, including 181 in the sixth form.[1]

Its GCSE results have risen in the past five years from below the national average to just below the average and is now 70%. The A2 Level pass rate is 99% A*-E and 46% A*-B. The AS pass rate is 88% A*-E and 33% A*-B

The school takes its name from the twelfth-century priest Nicholas Breakspeare, who, as Pope Adrian IV, is the only Englishman ever to have occupied the papal chair.

Its current headteacher is Mr Philip Jakszta, with the deputy headteacher being Mrs Whittle. The best of science is currently Dr Sutton, who is an all round hero to many students. In March 2009 the School was rated "Satisfactory" by Ofsted, and in 2011 "Good" and said to be making a steady progress.

Mr Jonathon Collings, the former Graphic Design teacher, was arrested for possessing child porn. The pervert was given a slap on the wrist.[2]
