Cherokee High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school, one of four high schools of the Lenape Regional High School District in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The communities in the district are Evesham Township, Medford Lakes, Medford Township, Mount Laurel Township, Shamong Township, Southampton Township, Tabernacle Township and Woodland Township.[3][4] Cherokee serves students from Evesham Township.[5] The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1978.[6]

Most of Cherokee's students come from either Frances S. DeMasi Middle School or Marlton Middle School, which are parts of the Evesham Township School District, located in Evesham Township, New Jersey (commonly referred to as Marlton), a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Some students also come from the local Catholic school, St. Joan of Arc.

The school was known as simply Cherokee High School until the addition of the "south" building in 2001. The original building was then renamed "Cherokee High School North."

As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,456 students and 174 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student–teacher ratio of 14.11.[1]

The school was the 134th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 322 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2010 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools", after being ranked 152nd in 2008 out of 316 schools.[7] The school was ranked 131st in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.[8]
