Shawnee High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States as part of the Lenape Regional High School District. The district serves students from Evesham Township, Medford Lakes, Medford Township, Mount Laurel Township, Shamong Township, Southampton Township, Tabernacle Township and Woodland Township. Ever since the opening of Seneca High School, the enrollment level has dropped, helping to alleviate the crowds the school once faced.

Athletics

The Shawnee High School Renegades participate in the Olympic Conference, which consists of public and private high schools located in Burlington County and Camden County. Being a part of the Lenape Regional High School District, Shawnee has many sports to offer for all students.

*Shawnee High School also has a separate club ice hockey team that competes in Varsity Tier I as a member of the South Jersey High School Ice Hockey League. *Shawnee baseball won its first NJSIAA title in the spring of 2003, led by future Oakland Athletics' 2007 1st round draft pick Sean Doolittle. After winning the state title, Seneca High School split up the Shawnee population. They played one more year in the Olympic American conference, then moved down to the Olympic Patriot conference. As of 2006, Shawnee won its conference three years in a row. Brian Anderson, the head coach, also coaches the girls basketball team and used to be the coordinator for the powerful Shawnee football defense.

Extra-Curriculars

There are a wide variety of student-run organizations for students to get involved in, as in most high schools across the U.S. Shawnee's Student Council is an award-winning member of the NJASC [ [http://njasc.org/news/awardsspr.html] , NJASC. Accessed September 4, 2008,] and the NASC, the state and national student council associations. In addition each grade has an executive homeroom that works to organize spirit week, prom, and an annual senior trip to Disney World in Florida.

However, Shawnee is unique in that it has several activism groups that meet regularly on campus. The school's Environmental Club has worked on recycling initiatives, and the high school's chapter of Amnesty International launches comprehensive awareness campaigns each year. Another opportunity for a student activist takes shape in the schools Global Service Group, GOYAADS.
