Occupy Syracuse Part of the "Occupy" protests Date October 2011 – present Location Syracuse, New York Status Ongoing Characteristics Demonstration, occupation, protest, street protesters Number Protesters: Unknown Occupy Syracuse is a peaceful protest and demonstration that began on October 2, 2011, in downtown Syracuse, New York, in Perseverance Park, within a block of several major banks.[1] It is related to the Occupy Wall Street movement that began in New York City on September 17, and calls for economic equity, accountability for politicians, and an end to lobbyist influence in government.
