0Occupy Berlin is an ongoing peaceful protest and demonstration against the current regulation of financial markets and social injustice. It is taking place in Berlin, Germany, and started as a part of 15 October 2011 global protests.[1] The protest began in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York, United States. It has so far established 3 encampments: outside of the church Parochialkirche, in Boxhagener Platz and the biggest one on the Bundespressestrand.[2]
Occupy Berlin cooperates with similar movements throughout Germany, most notably from Frankfurt and Hamburg.
