- NIH stroke scale
-
NIH stroke scale (abbreviated NIHSS)[1][2] is a scale developed by NINDS that communicates several different neurological deficits[3] upon a single axis, represented by a score from 0 to 30.
A score of more than approximately 25 indicates a large stroke, and a score of less than 4 may still indicate a small stroke.
