Chiheru de Jos — Commune — Coordinates: 46°41′N 24°53′E / 46.683°N 24.883°E Country Romania County Mureş County Population (2002)[1] 1,744 Time zone EET (UTC+2) - Summer (DST) EEST (UTC+3) Chiheru de Jos (Hungarian: Alsóköhér, Hungarian pronunciation: [ɒlʃoːkøheːr]) is a commune in Mureş County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Chiheru de Jos, Chiheru de Sus, Urisiu de Jos and Urisiu de Sus.
Demographics
The commune has absolute ethnic Romanian majority. According to the 2002 Census it has a population of 1744 of which 93.92% or 1638 are Romanians. Other minorities are Hungarians (0.51%), Roma (5.50%) and Italians (0.05%).[2]
