High school career
Claiborne attended John W. North High School in Riverside, California, and was a letterman in both football and basketball. In football, he won All-State honors at both running back and linebacker as a senior under head coach Mark Paredes. Claiborne graduated from high school in 1996.
College career
Claiborne was a first-team All-American graduate of the University of Southern California.
Professional career
Previously, Claiborne played for the Detroit Lions, the Minnesota Vikings, the St. Louis Rams, and the New York Giants. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in August 2007 but was released a short time later.
Personal
He has a cousin named Thomas Claiborne, who currently plays for Boston College Eagles football team as a right guard.
