Peter Falconer Beathard (born March 7, 1942) is a former American football quarterback who played professionally in the American Football League (AFL), the National Football League (NFL), and the World Football League (WFL).

College career

Beathard played college football at the University of Southern California, winning the National Championship in 1962. Both he and Ron VanderKelen, the Wisconsin quarterback were named the Rose Bowl Player Of The Game in the 1963 Rose Bowl. Professional career

Beathard was the 1964 first-round draft choice of the AFL's Kansas City Chiefs. In 1967 Beathard was traded to the Houston Oilers in exchange for quarterback Jacky Lee and led the Oilers to the AFL Eastern Division title before losing to the Oakland Raiders 40-7 in the AFL Championship Game. Beathard took the Oilers to the AFL playoffs again in 1969.

He finished his pro career in the WFL playing for the Portland Storm in 1974 and the Chicago Winds in 1975.
