Cottrell — Unincorporated community — Location within the state of Oregon Coordinates: 45°27′28″N 122°18′16″W / 45.45778°N 122.30444°WCoordinates: 45°27′28″N 122°18′16″W / 45.45778°N 122.30444°W Country United States State Oregon County Clackamas Elevation 659 ft (201 m) Time zone Pacific (PST) (UTC-8) – Summer (DST) PDT (UTC-7) ZIP codes FIPS code GNIS feature ID 1136180[1] Elevation citation[1] Cottrell is an unincorporated crossroads community in north Clackamas County, Oregon, United States.[1] It was named for the family of Mrs. Charles Andrews, whose maiden name was Cottrell.[2] There was a Cottrell post office from 1894 until 1904; it probably closed when Rural Free Delivery was extended to the area.[2] There is also a Cottrell school a mile east of the locale, and there was a Cottrell station on the defunct Mount Hood Electric Railway line about a mile to the north.[2] The now-abandoned station was across the county line in Multnomah County.[2]
