Wemme is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County,
Oregon ,United States . It is located within theMount Hood Corridor , between Welches and Brightwood along U.S. Route 26. It is one of the communities that make up the Villages at Mount Hood.The community was named for
E. Henry Wemme , a Portland businessman who bought aLocomobile in 1899, the firstautomobile in Oregon. He also bought the right-of-way toBarlow Road in 1912, bequeathing it to the public after his death two years later.West Coast Airlines Flight 956
