Boundaries
The constituency of North Swindon was newly created in 1997. Its boundaries now encompass an area that previously made up parts of the former constituencies of Swindon, North Wiltshire and Devizes. The constituency covers much of urban and suburban Swindon, but also incorporates a substantial portion of the surrounding area, including Blunsdon and the market town of Highworth. North Swindon has an electorate of 79,488, the majority of whom live in the suburbs of Swindon itself, one the most rapidly growing settlements in Great Britain. As part of a re-alignment of boundaries in the 2010 election Cricklade became part of the North Wiltshire constituency while North Swindon acquired parts of the South Swindon constituency.
