2005 FIFA World Youth Championship
Coach: Eduardo Lara
This is seen as a new golden generation of players for Colombia. Many of the players from 2005 are already in Europe or are performing well in teams in the Americas. This is the team that won the South American Youth Championship in 2005 that was held in Colombia, and then later lost in the Round of 16 against eventual winners Argentina at the World Cup 2–1 by a late goal by Lionel Messi
