CONMEBOL , theSouth America n football confederation, includes most of the South American countries exceptGuyana ,Suriname andFrench Guiana as members.Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana have their own football associations but are members of
CONCACAF , theNorth America n football confederation. TheFalkland Islands , aBritish Overseas Territory , is not a member of CONMEBOL or any other football confederation.Each of the CONMEBOL member countries have their own football
league system s. The clubs playing in each top-level league compete for the title as the country's club champions, and also for places in next season's premier CONMEBOL club competition, theCopa Libertadores (and for some countries, also for places in the second CONMEBOL club competition,Copa Sudamericana ).
