Sharpe, 1908The Mountain Wagtail (Motacilla clara), also known as the Long-tailed Wagtail, is a species of bird in the Motacillidae family.
It has a wide but patchy distribution across sub-Saharan Africa, occurring in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Its natural habitat is fast-flowing streams within subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
