Meherpur Sadar (Bengali: মেহেরপুর সদর) is an Upazila of Meherpur District in the Division of Khulna, Bangladesh.

Geography

Meherpur Sadar is located at 23°46′30″N 88°38′30″E / 23.7750°N 88.6417°E / 23.7750; 88.6417 . It has 49043 units of house hold and total area 374.1 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Meherpur Sadar has a population of 262779. Males constitute are 51.2% of the population, and females 48.8%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 140387. Meherpur Sadar has an average literacy rate of 24.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.^[1]
