Miss América Latina 2005 was the nineteenth international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the twenty-first overall. The final event was held on November 26, 2004 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. At the conclusion of the pageant, Mariela Candia of Paraguay was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Gamalis Fermín of Puerto Rico[1].

- Paraguay earned its first and, as of 2011, only victory.
- The USA matched its best placement up to that point, having previously had two first runners-up in 1984 and 1985.
- Brazil placed for the fifth consecutive time, making it the second territory, after Colombia, to have two 5-pageant streaks.
- Mexico matched its best placement since winning in 1987 for a third time. This tied it, at that point, with Panama for the most third-place delegates.
- Canada placed for the first time.
- Peru also placed in 2004.
- Paraguay last placed in 1993.
- Ecuador last placed in 1998.
