Miss América Latina 1991 was the eighth international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the tenth overall. The final event was held on November 12, 1991 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the conclusion of the pageant, María Elena Bellido of Peru was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Vanessa Holler of Venezuela. [1].

- Peru last placed in 1989.
- Brazil placed for the fifth consecutive time, tying the consecutive placement record at the time held by Colombia (1983-1987). Colombia would later break the record in 2003, with Brazil again matching it in 2006.
- Puerto Rico placed for the third consecutive time, the territory's longest placement streak.
- Argentina, Ecuador and Mexico also placed in 1990.
- Argentina earned its highest placement ever, to be matched the following year.
- Mexico earned its highest placement since winning in 1987.
- Chile last placed in 1986.
- Bolivia last placed in 1989.
- This was the first time that Colombia had sent a delegate and failed to place.
- This year also saw a change in the format, with only eight semifinalists being called out instead of ten, as it had been since 1983.
