The Union Territory of Puducherry has two districts, four Parts. The Two Districts are Puducherry (Puducherry, Mahe, Yanam) and Karaikal. Puducherry is the largest district both in area and population. Mahe is smallest region in terms of area and Yanam is smallest region in terms of population. All the four previous colonies in French India were organised as Union Territory of Puducherry after merging into India.
