Chandanakkavu is located 16 km. south-west of Kottakkal and about 3 km. south of Vettichira in Kurumbathur village in north Kerala (Malabar), India[1]. It is famous as the birth place of the 16th century poet, Melpathur Bhattathiripad, Chandanakkavu Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiripad is the composer of ‘Narayaneeyam’. A mandap in honour of him has been constructed by the Guruvayoor Devaswam at Chandanakkavu which is attracting people.
