Safety
The compound is stable, but flammable; the vapour is denser than air by 2.3 times. Cyclopentanone is harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. It is also irritant to the skin and respiratory system, and a severe irritant to the eyes.
Use
Cyclopentanone is commonly used as a thinner for various epoxies used in MEMS fabrication, such as SU-8.
